Congratulations! You just did what most people can’t stand. You have finished moving. You returned the moving truck, and the auto transport company just delivered your car to your new home. Good job. You can pat yourself on the back, but you still have some work to do. If you have not gotten settled in yet, then you are faced with the huge task of unpacking.
Do you want to know one of the great things about unpacking? Believe it or not, there is a bright side to this. There is a bright side to just about everything. You just have to know where to find it. You can unpack whenever you feel like it. Take your time, you deserve it.
What about all of your dishes
Hopefully you packed all of your dishes away, and they survived the move, but you can get by a few days without them. You can just go to the local grocery store, and pick up some paper or plastic plates. Pick up some plastic silverware while you are at it, and don’t forget the cups. Your dishes are packed away nice and safe. There is no rush to get to them.
What about your clothes
If you packed your clothes away, just get some clothes as you need them. In fact, you can handle all of your unpacking this very same way. Unpack something when you need it. This can be a great way to handle the unpacking process if you want to take things nice and easy.
What about all of those boxes
Once you finish unpacking, you will have a lot of moving supplies to deal with. What are you going to do with all that stuff? You will have loads upon loads of empty boxes to deal with and you will also have a bunch of other stuff too. If you packed all of your dishes, then you will have all of the packing material that is left in the boxes. Did you know that most of your packing materials are recyclable? That’s right! You can do your part by recycling most of your packing supplies. You may even be able to reuse some of them around the house. Some of the larger moving boxes can be used around the house for storage. If you plan on storing a lot of stuff in your garage of attic, then save the boxes for storage. You will be saving yourself some money, and you won’t be wasting all of those paper products.
If you have a large enough attic, then you can store all of your moving supplies in it. Problem solved!
If you don’t have enough space to store all of your left over moving supplies, then you may be able to find a place to donate them. Some of those moving boxes can be expensive, and there is no use in throwing them away. Once you have everything unpacked, and you have either gotten rid of or packed away all of your moving supplies, then you are done! Enjoy your new life in your new city!
