Auto shipping is not just for your average consumer. Many auto dealerships depend on auto transport companies to help them deliver all of their newly bought or sold vehicles. With the growth of technology, the world has become a much smaller place. People and auto dealers are no longer just making their auto purchases locally, they are purchasing automobiles from all over the country, and they rely on auto shipping services to send and receive all of these new purchases.
Recent problems have slowed some auto shipping
Toyota, one of the leading import auto manufactures in the United States has been heavily scrutinized over the last few years. Poor workmanship, and overall drops in quality have resulted in numerous recalls of various Toyota vehicles.
These recalls are to address possible extremely dangerous problems with the Toyota vehicles that the manufacturer most likely new about. This has had a huge affect on the auto shipping industry. If Toyota was responsible for 25% of all incoming auto shipping into the United States, and their sales have seen a steep drop, then the auto shipping companies are feeling this change.
This also has a tremendous affect on the local auto shipping companies as well. Once the new vehicles arrive in the country, they must be transported to all of the automobile dealers all over the country. This is where auto shipping companies are seeing the biggest drop in usage. People are not buying Toyota vehicles as much as they were in the past, and the auto shipping industry is being affected by this.
Domestic auto manufacturer Ford, has also recently come under fire. Documents have been leaked that showed that the popular domestic auto manufacturer knew about existing problems with its popular line of trucks and did little to nothing about it.
However, Ford did notify all of its dealers about the existing problems and left it up to the auto dealer to tell consumers about the possible problems.
For some reason this negative information has not had a negative impact on sales for the domestic auto manufacturing giant. Auto shipping companies are reporting record numbers of Ford’s being shipped all over the country, including the F Series truck line that has had all of the recent troubles.
Ford vehicles are still selling like crazy, and the auto shipping industry is seeing a boost in shipping these vehicles.
It could be that more Americans are losing their trust in foreign auto manufacturers, while becoming more lenient towards domestic auto manufacturers. Either way the auto shipping industry thinks that the constant growth of domestic auto sales is a good sign for the future of auto shipping.
The real question is this. Will the increase in Ford sales be enough to make up for the lack of Toyota sales, and more importantly, will it be able to keep the auto shipping industry in a state of growth. So far the numbers look good enough for the good to offset the bad, but only time will tell.
