It’s easier if
it will be a local move but this article for the most part will
reflect those who are moving to a different state. You will need to
know an exact time and distance of your travel best thing to do is
to type in your current address and the address to where you are
moving into any mapping website.
Once you know how far your going you
need to come up with a travel plan. You will see if you feel the
need to stay in a hotel over night and make sure they allow pet in
their hotels, you would not want Fifi to be upset sitting in a cold
car while your in a nice warm hotel room. So now you have a travel
plan it’s time for the second step.
Getting your pet prepared for the long ride. I would suggest putting
your pet in a carrying case or tank large enough for them so they
would be comfortable during the long ride, Just as we do not like it
they do not like being stuck in a tight cramped spot for a long
duration of time. I know there are a lot of people who will treat
them just as a human and have them just sit in the rear seat or the
front but I strongly suggest you do not do this as this would be a
hazard while driving because even though they are apart of the
family they are still animals and can get into your line of sight
while driving causing an accident.
Now you have your house packed and the movers loaded all on the
truck and your wife's car is picked up by the
auto shipping company
ready for
auto transport cross country. All you have to do is make
sure you have enough food and water if applicable for your pet and
your ready to go. While on the trip make sure you let your pet do
it’s business during you breaks to avoid accidents and make sure to
pick up after your pet does it’s business to avoid being ticketed by
local authorities and your trip will be a pleasant one. Now when you
reach your new home your pet will have to get used to it’s new
surrounding but that’s a whole other article.
